Awesome Offshore Dolphin Fishing And Great Reef Fishing Highlight Our Latest Islamorada Sport Fishing Trip Report!
The Reel Sharp Islamorada Fishing report for the Florida Keys for the week of August 17th, 2015 had some great early morning reef fishing due to plenty of current on the reef. Good reports of Yellow Tail Snapper, Mutton Snapper, and Cero Mackerel being caught while reef fishing.
Offshore Dolphin fishing has been great with lots of Mahi fish in the 40 lb range being caught. The commercial fishing ban on Mahi fishing may be helping to produce more fish in the area. The good news is that the fish this week have been very close. Most of the fish have been caught less the 16 miles offshore.
Nice size black fin tunas have been showing up on the Islamorada Hump on our offshore fishing charters. Black Fin Tunas in the 10 – 15 lb range has been caught on live pilchards and cigar minnows.
The bait has been very plentiful on the reef and on our offshore trips there have seen very heavy weed lines and we have been able to catch a lot of jacks and small blue runners. It’s a great time to be in the Florida Keys!
