It’s been a while since we had our last Fishing Report but now we are excited to let you know what has been happening to Islamorada.

Beautiful morning here yesterday in Islamorada for Sportfishing, winds where SW 12-15knts. Seas where 2-4ft.Started our deep sea fishing trip, by catching some live cigar minnows at the bait patch this morning using our castnet.

The Reel Sharp headed out t one of our local FADs in 125ft of water. The Florida Keys Kingfish bite was great on the surface! image6As soon as we casted our live baits out and they hit the water we had em on!  As we fished for King fish on the surface, we dropped chicken Riggs with live shrimp to the bottom and started catching lane snappers. After we reached our limit of kingfish  fishing the  reef we decided to head inshore and try for some tarpon fishing. We thought it would be fun to fly one of our sailfish kites with live blue runners and cigar minnows. Within 5 minutes we were tight with a 60+lb tarpon! In addition to our Florida Keys Fishing Report we have also had boats report that there is some good 30 to 60 lb amberjack action on the Islamorada hump.

The Shark Fishing has also been good with a lot of 200lb plus Bull Sharks caught. The reports on Tarpon Fishing have been getting better the last few days with more fish showing up by the bridges. The Mahi fishing has been a little slow but that will improve with warmer weather. Well thats our Islamorada Fishing Report and we wish you bloody decks and tight lines to everyone!!

For your convenience here’s a link  from our last fishing report.
